Update

Well, we went to the doctor this morning for Tyler's knee. He is a great doctor and really knows what he is talking about. He is ready and willing to do Tyler's surgery, but there is still no guarantee that he will be able to make it through the police academy in a year. It will totally be a wait and see process. We went ahead and scheduled Tyler's surgery for June 5th. Tyler's problem now is that his knee dislocates at will and he has pain. To correct these problems his doctor will be doing arthroscopic surgery first and cleaning out the knee joint. He does not want to have to go into the soft tissue, but he might have to to tighten up the muscle. Then he will be going in and taking the tendon along with part of the bone off of his tibia and moving it to make his knee line up correctly. This will require screws to be placed to keep the bone/tendon in place to heal. The screws will be removed in about four months. He will be placed in a brace and on crutches. The surgery will be on Tuesday and we will have to go back on Wednesday to see the doctor. He will have to remove a drain and then we will go to physical therapy. Then he will go back and see the doctor one week later and have physical therapy/rehab three days a week. His total recovery will take six to eight months. Probably a year before he feels very comfortable with his knee.

Warren has had ear infections this week. I had to take him to the doctor on Friday, and she put him on antibiotics. He is finally starting to feel better and sleeping!!! After a week of no sleeping, I am thankful for any sleep.

Benjamin is in Tennessee with my family for 12 days! My parents always go camping over Memorial Day weekend and so this year Benjamin gets to experience camping for the first time. I am sure they will have a blast!

I don't think there is anything else new. Our house is coming along, they have poured the slab and blocked the whole house. We are hoping they will get the trusses on by Wednesday. Until next time...
