Muffin Tin Monday

This weeks challenge was to take a Christmas book and make a muffin tin out of it! I chose The Last Straw by Frederick Thury. Ben got this book as a baby present (with a matching ornament:)). The story is about a camel that is very proud. He is chosen to take gifts to the new Baby Jesus. He boasts that he is strong and he can definitely carry the load. On the journey more and more people give him gifts. Throughout the book he realizes that he can't do anymore, but his pride gets in the way; he won't give up. Finally a little boy wants him to take a piece of straw. Hoshmakaka, the camel, doesn't think he can make it, but he takes the piece of straw. As he walks he gets lower and lower to the ground from the weight of the load until he falls on his knees- at the feet of the newly born savior. Jesus reaches out and touches him and "From that time on there was no burden, great or small, that Hoshmakaka would not gladly carry." It's a wonderful book, but the cheapest I could find it online was around $55! Yikes!

We had "Jars of Honey," Mini M&M "Beads," "Rolls of 'Fruit' Leather," "Star" (Peppermint Marshmallow, "Straw" Coconut, and a manger cake. I am going to give them some icing to ice their cupcake and top it with toppings.

Here's a look into the book...
