Cardiologist
A little known fact is that Carson was born with a couple of heart murmurs. The cardiologist assured us that they were very small and not much to worry about. We agree! Warren had something similar so we are familiar with going to the cardiologist. Carson had an ECHO in the hospital and he has a patent foramen ovale and a ventricular septal defect. Like I said, they are both very small and will not be treated. On Monday, we had to go back to the cardiologist for a follow up. This cardiologist was SOOOO nice. I was really impressed. He assured me that the VSD was so tiny that you couldn't hear it during the whole cardiac cycle because when the heart beats it closes the hole. I asked about the PFO and he was not concerned about that at this time. The PFO usually closes after the baby is born so they expect this one to close sometime in the future. We will have to go back to the cardiologist in 3 months just to keep an eye on these murmurs but just to make sure that they don't get any bigger. At this time there is nothing to suggest that they will- but we just need to make sure!
