Once things fell through with Nelli in Georgia, we contacted the breeder to try to find a family. I had three people contact me! We decided on a family in North Carolina. So we made a trip half way to meet them. Ben ended up staying with Nannie and Grandad. And Warren got an invitation for his first sleepover. So we just had Carson!
Our first look at the mountains! Beautiful.
We found a cute little cabin in the middle of Old Fort. It was perfect! Just down the driveway was a cute stream. Carson wanted to get in it so bad.
Downtown Black Mountain had a sourwood honey festival going on. Carson loved the bees.
Sunday we did a hike to Catawba Falls. It was a great 3 mile hike! Nelli got to where she liked the water.
It was a great "last" day with her. That afternoon we transferred her to her new home.
We went to Downtown Asheville for dinner Sunday night. Carson had ball seeing all the big firetrucks!
Update on Nelli: We got a call Wednesday (August 15th) saying they could not keep Nelli. She was not getting along with their other dog. After much deliberation and a very stressful day, we transferred her to a Vizsla rescue of the Carolinas. They have been GREAT to work with and are keeping me up to date. We feel very confident with our decision and are certain they are going to take great care of her and find her a good home.
