When it comes to baking and decorating, I am not the most talented person (but that doesn't stop me from trying). A couple of months ago, I found these pictures on the Internet of Elmo Cupcakes.
I thought they were so cute and I set out to make them! On one of my mom's trips to FL we found peach flavored gum balls at Dylan's Candy Bar. I thought they would be a perfect nose for our Elmo.
So for my Elmo I started with Red Frosting. We used Red Red from Wilton and added TONS to our frosting (nothing like a little Red #5 in your diet). Then I used chocolate cupcakes from a mix. To frost the cupcakes I first frosted them on the top to get a base layer. Then I used a tip that had four little holes in a line (see, I don't even know the right name for it!). I piped frosting all over the cupcake to make it look like "fur." Yes, they were messy.
Next I took a marshmallow and cut it in half. Then I made a hole all the way through the marshmallow for the eyes.
